NNucaps Nanotechnology
Nucaps Nanotechnology is a Spanish biotech company that has industrialised a patented nano/microencapsulation technology using natural food proteins (casein, zein, soy) to encapsulate bioactives and probiotics, improving their stability, taste masking and bioavailability (reported up to ~35x versus free-form) for food & beverage, supplements, nutraceutical, pharma, cosmetics and animal nutrition applications. It is a seed-stage spin-out created in 2017 out of a Navarre consortium led by the University of Navarra with CNTA, Idifarma and Laboratorios Cinfa, based at the CEIN incubator in Noáin (Navarre) with roughly 16-18 employees. It holds Spain's Innovative SME seal, has won industry awards including a NutraIngredients Start-Up Award, and cites partners such as AB InBev, Givaudan and Tetra Pak.
