Kalma, founded in 2023 by serial fintech entrepreneur Carlos Hernández, closed its first funding round of €1 million to scale services that convert home equity into liquidity for over-65s (bare-ownership sales with lifetime occupancy and intergenerational room rental). The round was backed by Spanish entrepreneurs, notably Marc Antoni Maciá, who joined as chairman of the board; no institutional lead was disclosed and the company says it plans to raise more than €20 million by 2025.
