Cocoon Bioscience, which uses cocooned insects as bioreactors to produce enzymes and growth factors for pharma and cultivated meat, raised €2 million co-led by MONDRAGON and Bexen Medical, with existing backers Columbus Venture Partners, Cleon Capital, Viscofan, North South Ventures, Sangha Capital and Basque public fund SPRI following on. The money funds a new manufacturing plant at the Bizkaia Technology Park in Zamudio and follows the company's earlier €15M round led by Columbus and Cleon, so it is effectively a Series A extension; because two investors co-led, no single lead is recorded.
