Kaleidos closed its first institutional round, a €2.2M seed led by Madrid fund Athos Capital (chosen from 15 interested funds), with public innovation agency CDTI also contributing and returning business angels Vicente Olivenza, Carlos Cosín, Rafa Garrido and Ricky Posner following on. The money funded the pivot from client consultancy to its own products, Taiga and Penpot; at its 2011 founding as Ars Code the company had raised roughly €1M in initial capital from the founding team, nearby angels, a private investor and the Secuoyas group, which was never announced as a venture round.
