BIOM — Seed · €750K

BIOM, a 2019 spin-off of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, closed a €750,000 seed round (~$842K) led and, per all reporting, solely funded by deep-science fund BeAble Capital, to move its microorganism-based formulations and culture media (Nanulose bacterial cellulose, Ficogenic Broth) into industrial production with partner Reactivos para Diagnostico (RPD). Earlier non-equity support — a 2020 Startup Capital Accio grant from the Generalitat de Catalunya and a 2022 NEOTEC grant backed by CDTI — was never announced as a funding round and is excluded; Tracxn and Crunchbase list this as the company's only round.
