Nantek raised €350,000 in April 2021, co-led by Yago Arbeloa through his investment vehicle Viriditas Ventures and by business angel Patrik Bergareche (then Just Eat Spain general manager); the round funded the scale-up of its catalyst-free pyrolysis technology and its first pilot plant in Bizkaia. Sources do not label the round's stage and give only the month, so it is filed as 2021-04; Nantek had earlier said in 2020 it was closing a first round of over €1M in tranches, but no closing of that raise was ever announced. Public/award money around the same period (the €10,000 GFT-Banco Sabadell sustainability prize at IESE's Sustainable Investment Forum, the CaixaBank EmprendedorXXI award, and Seed Capital Bizkaia's public-sector backing) is excluded as it was not announced as a venture round, although Seed Capital Bizkaia and Viriditas are today described as minority shareholders.
