Deep-science fund BeAble Capital took a minority stake in ALA Diagnostics with a €1M ticket in a round PlantaDoce reported at €1.1M in total; the round was first reported on 22 June 2023 and re-announced through BeAble's own press release on 31 October 2023 (the capital increase was registered at the Spanish commercial registry on 10 August 2023). Proceeds funded completion of the MS Kit (EM Kit) blood test, a new production laboratory inside Madrid's M-30 and the international clinical trial for CE marking and FDA approval; separately in January 2023 the company had been awarded an EIC Accelerator package of a €1.4M grant plus up to €1M of EIC Fund equity, and in November 2022 €650k of a €1.25M Spanish Ministry of Science/AEI NextGenerationEU public-private grant, neither of which is counted here as a venture round.
