WalletConnect, the open protocol that lets crypto wallets connect to decentralised apps, raised an $11M Series A co-led by Union Square Ventures and 1kx to build a generalised messaging layer for Web3. Co-founder and CEO Pedro Gomes is based in Barcelona and the round was covered as a Spanish-ecosystem deal by Dealflow.es, although the legal entity is registered in Zug, Switzerland and the team is distributed; because USV and 1kx genuinely co-led, no single lead is recorded.
