Madrid foodtech Rice in Action, reported in the Spanish press under its Arroces la Bomba brand, closed its first funding round at €437,500 through Startupxplore in a matter of hours, hitting 125% of its €350,000 target. Backers included more than 60 investors, among them former Alsea CEO Fabián Gosselin and J.P. Azoulay; the company's technology encapsulates broth and flavourings in the grain so restaurant rice dishes cook in about five minutes.
