Be Mate — Seed · €1M

Tech investor Javier Rubió, former chairman of Nauta Capital, put €1M into Be Mate through a capital increase. He took 5% with an option on another 5% and joined the board and management committee. This was about nine months after the platform launched in September 2014. Around the same time (2015) the company also received €3.45M in public soft loans (€450K from ENISA and €3M from the Secretary of State for Tourism). Shareholders also put in about €4.6M through the Dutch parent, Be Mate Community BV, first as loans that were later converted to equity; this was never announced as a round.
