VEnvirotech closed a round of just over €2M (some sources say €2.1M) in August 2019 and announced it in October. Most of the money came from the family office of the Gassó family, the former owners of Gaes. It paid for a 3,100 m² production plant in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda to build VE-Box units and extract bioplastic at industrial scale. Around the same time the company won a €226K EU LIFE grant and joined the Fundación Repsol Entrepreneurs Fund and the CleanTech Camp accelerator.
