Graphenea — Seed · €1M

Graphenea took a €1M (about $1.36M) investment in its share capital from Repsol, through Repsol Energy Ventures (New Energy), together with CDTI's INNVIERTE venture capital programme. The money went into speeding up its industrialisation plan. The company was set up in 2010 as a joint venture between private investors (reported as Nanotechnology Investment Group) and CIC nanoGUNE, with about €1.4M of private equity plus credit financing in its founding business plan, but no founding round was announced publicly. Later capital increases (e.g. a €40,685 increase recorded in Nov 2017 in the Spanish company register, BORME) and EU Horizon 2020 grants were never announced as funding rounds.
