Repsol spun out its internally developed blockchain verifiable-credentials technology into a new startup, Sybol, taking a 15% stake alongside venture builder Tritemius and a consortium of private investors; the amount invested was not disclosed and no venture stage was named. Repsol Electricidad y Gas already issues over 2,500 verifiable credentials a month for around 500 corporate clients on the platform, which is aligned with the EU eIDAS2 regulation.
