Afori launched out of stealth with a €4 million pre-seed round led by General Catalyst, with BOOOM (named as co-lead in the press release) and Yellow participating alongside angels including Mustafa Suleyman, Alex Rinke, Christopher Lohmann, Chris Leifeld, Garrett Koehn and Mehdi Ghissassi. Founded in 2025 by ex-wefox executives Fabian Wesemann and Sergi Banos, it builds insurance-specific AI agents that automate broker back-office work inside Outlook; note that HQ attribution is contested — the legal entity is Spanish (Afori Solutions SLU) and several databases list Barcelona, while EU-Startups and some outlets describe it as Berlin-based.
