Barcelona-based SolarMente secured a €50 million commitment from Barcelona energy-transition private equity firm GNE Finance, structured mostly as debt and equity through a special purpose vehicle rather than a classic venture stage round. The money is earmarked to install 10,000 residential solar systems in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Alicante over four years under its no-upfront-cost subscription model.
