Batea Oncology
Batea Oncology is a Santiago de Compostela-based biotech spun out of the University Hospital and Health Research Institute of Santiago, founded in 2024 to develop new treatments for aggressive, low-survival cancers. Its lead asset, GlioHook, is a Class III implantable medical device placed during glioblastoma surgery that captures residual tumor cells and makes them more sensitive to radiotherapy, with a pilot clinical trial planned for 2026 across three Spanish hospitals.
