Comunidad Solar is a Spanish renewable-energy company that lets households and businesses own a share of solar, wind and hydro generation assets without installing anything on their own roof — its flagship 'autoconsumo remoto' (remote self-consumption) model sells stakes in solar parks to 'comuneros' who then receive energy at zero cost per kWh for 30 years through the company's own electricity retailer, alongside conventional rooftop solar, batteries, heat pumps and EV charging. Founded in late 2018 by a group of friends in Las Rozas de Madrid, it says its ~3,500 members cover 96% of their consumption and calls itself Spain's largest remote energy community, with roughly 28-30 employees. Funding has been unconventional: a reported ~€1.2M equity round at a €25M valuation backed by renewables developer Circle Energy, plus an €800,000 crowdlending round closed in May 2024 via the Goparity platform (the platform's largest campaign, with 3,500+ retail lenders); no institutional VC round has been publicly announced.
