TTaxiCoin
TaxiCoin is a Vitoria-Gasteiz-based ride-hailing platform built only for licensed taxis. It runs a passenger app and a separate driver app. Passengers can choose a driver by their preferences or book the nearest taxi, add several stops, and pay by card, cash or cryptocurrency. Drivers join without exclusivity and are rewarded for positive reviews, and riders earn the TXC token, which lowers the cost of later trips. Founded in 2022 and backed by BIC Araba and the Lanzadera accelerator, the company ran a pilot in Madrid that signed up more than 500 drivers and 8,000 users in four months. In January 2024 it launched across the full 240-taxi fleet in Benidorm and began a pilot in Tenerife. TaxiCoin raised a pre-seed round at a €1M valuation in early 2023, followed by a €120,000 round later that year at a €1.5M valuation, for about $1.2M raised in total.
