Bettermaps is a Spanish cartography software company whose no-code platform lets designers, publishers, educators, museums and brands create custom digital maps from natural-language prompts, without GIS or coding skills. Its Mapmaker editor turns text descriptions into styled maps with editable layers, brand colours and typography, exportable to PNG, PDF or HTML, while Bettermaps History is an interactive historical atlas for plotting events, migrations and timelines; both are sold on a freemium subscription model starting at €9 per month, complemented by custom cartography consulting. Founded in 2021 by Pablo Viejo and headquartered in Oviedo, Asturias, the company launched its first beta in 2022, won that year's Radar Award for the best technology-based company in Asturias, and reported around 25,000 users by August 2023. It took part in the Lanzadera accelerator and closed a €200,000 pre-seed round backed by business angels in 2023.
