Unusuals (legal entity Unusuals World S.L.) is a Madrid-based AI company that automates visual inspection and maintenance of critical linear infrastructure. Its software ingests imagery from drones, cameras, LiDAR and thermal sensors to automatically detect defects and anomalies on power lines, railways, telecom towers, wind farms and solar PV plants, using synthetic data to train models where real defect examples are scarce, and outputs audit-ready reports (cloud or on-premise). Founded in 2016, it raised a ~€1M seed round in June 2024 co-led by Elewit (Redeia/Red Eléctrica's tech venture arm) and Terna Forward (the CVC of Italian grid operator Terna); it won Elewit's Data Challenge in 2020, has worked with Red Eléctrica on the DALIA anomaly-detection project since 2020, and counts Deutsche Bahn among its referenced clients.
