Domestika is an online learning platform and community for creative professionals, offering professionally produced video courses in areas such as illustration, design, photography, animation, crafts and marketing, taught by working creatives. Its business model is based mainly on à la carte course sales, and it offers free community membership. By early 2022 it had more than 8 million members, over 2,000 courses from about 1,300 instructors, and courses in six languages. It began in Madrid in 2002 as an online forum for creatives and is now headquartered in California. It raised a $20 million Series C in October 2021 and then a $110 million Series D in January 2022, led by Zeev Ventures with participation from GSV Ventures, at a $1.3 billion valuation.
