Nuclia is a Barcelona-based AI search company that built a RAG-as-a-Service platform. It lets developers and enterprises index unstructured data such as text, documents, audio and video in many languages, then run semantic search and generative answers over it. The company offered its platform as a cloud API and also released NucliaDB, an open-source vector database built for unstructured data. Eudald Camprubí and Ramon Navarro founded Nuclia in 2019. It raised a $5.4 million seed round in April 2022, led by Crane Venture Partners and Elaia. Progress Software acquired Nuclia in June 2025 and now sells its technology as the agentic RAG part of the Progress Data Platform.
