Insulcloud is a Madrid-based digital health company that develops connected solutions for diabetes management, used by patients, healthcare providers and health systems. Its main product, Insulclock, is a Bluetooth smart cap for disposable insulin pens that records the insulin brand, dose, injection time and pen temperature. It pairs with the Insulclock 360º app, which brings insulin, glucose, meal, exercise and medication data together and feeds it into patients' medical records. The company works with strategic partners including Dexcom, IBM and Ascensia Diabetes Care, and in 2024 it received FDA 510(k) clearance for Insulclock CAP ahead of entering the US market. Founded in 2014 by José Luis López, Insulcloud has raised more than $14M in venture funding, including a €4M round in 2022 led by a strategic partner from the diabetes sector, and it has been backed by Seed Capital Bizkaia, Pascual Startup, Wayra and EU Horizon 2020 grants.
