Wayra is Telefónica's Corporate Venture Capital and open innovation platform, investing in startups and connecting them with Telefónica's business units through a venture-client model. Originally launched in 2011 as a startup accelerator, it evolved in 2018 into a full CVC arm, investing across seed to growth stages with a focus on tech sectors relevant to telecoms (connectivity, AI, cybersecurity, IoT, enterprise SaaS, digital health). It has invested over €245M in more than 1,100 startups since inception and operates hubs across Spain, Germany, the UK, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.
