Volava is a Spanish connected-fitness company founded in Barcelona in 2017 that sells smart indoor bikes, treadmills and boxing kits paired with a subscription app of live and on-demand classes (a Peloton-style D2C model across cycling, running and boxing). It raised a €2M round in February 2021 from Inveready, JME Ventures and Wayra after a pandemic-driven jump from ~€200k to ~€2M in revenue, but filed for concurso de acreedores in July 2023; its productive unit was bought by US-based Mad Dogg Athletics (owner of the Spinning brand) in October 2023, and in April 2024 esports club DUX Gaming acquired 51% (Mad Dogg's John Baudhuin retains 49%), with a B2B bike line for gyms and hotels launched from 2025.
