Nearby Computing is a Barcelona-based deeptech company, founded in 2018 as a spin-off of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and UPC, that develops NearbyOne — an edge-to-cloud orchestration and automation platform for deploying and managing distributed infrastructure, connectivity and applications at the edge. It sells to telecom operators and industrial enterprises (5G, IoT, private networks, edge AI) and was named a Gartner Cool Vendor in Edge Computing in 2023. It raised a €6.5M Series A in July 2024 co-led by Walter Ventures and JME Ventures, with Telefónica (via Wayra) and Akamai joining alongside existing shareholders Cellnex, Lenovo and Redeia/Elewit.
