YBVR is an immersive video streaming company that turns live events into interactive, social experiences for virtual- and mixed-reality headsets, mobile and web. Its vertically integrated platform covers production, distribution, playback, applications and analytics, and streams 8K video at low bandwidth and low latency. It runs the Xtadium sports app, launched with Meta in 2022, as well as Xtadium Music and CultVRe, and has worked with rights holders and partners including the NBA, UFC, NASCAR, ESPN, X Games, DAZN, beIN Sports, EuroLeague, PSG, Verizon, AWS and Google Cloud. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in San Jose, California, with operations in Spain, YBVR is backed by Wayra (Telefónica), which first invested in 2018, and by Verizon Ventures and Tech Coast Angels, which joined Wayra in a $1.5M pre-Series A round in February 2021; TELUS Ventures invested later.
