Motmo is a Bilbao-based digital music-learning platform where musicians learn to play songs on guitar, bass, ukulele or keyboard using official chords, tabs and scores created with the artists who wrote them. Its interactive player lets users play songs, follow tablatures and choose which version of the artist's performance to see, and the company is building an AI tool to digitise sheet music. Its business model is paid user subscriptions. Motmo has partnered with more than 150 artists, including Hombres G, Izal and Mägo de Oz, and has agreements with Warner Music and Universal. It was founded in 2021 by music-industry professionals with a background in copyright management, and closed a €200,000 pre-seed round in 2022 combining €100,000 in equity from B·Combinator and music-industry companies with €100,000 from ENISA. It later took part in the Lanzadera and CultTech accelerators and won the best Spanish project award at the 2022 Zinemaldia Startup Challenge.
