VadeCity

VadeCity is a Barcelona-based smart-mobility company that builds and runs VadeBike, a network of secure, connected parking stations for bicycles and e-scooters that cities, public bodies and car-park operators can deploy. It also offers IoT services that collect and monitor user and vehicle data in real time. The company was founded in Barcelona in 2014 by architect Marta Recasens, after a pilot of her first prototype through a Barcelona City Council innovation challenge. It has installed parking in Madrid, including 56 spaces in EMT-managed underground car parks, in partnership with EIT Urban Mobility and Madrid City Council. VadeCity has raised about €1.3M from Horizon 2020 grants, equity crowdfunding and private rounds, including a €500,000 third round in 2022 that brought in eight new shareholders at a €5.5M valuation, with backing from EIT Urban Mobility and OK Ventures.
