Ixorigue is a Madrid-based agritech company that digitises extensive livestock farming. Its product is a smart collar for cattle, horses, sheep, goats and pigs that tracks each animal's location and activity over NB-IoT and LoRaWAN networks. Cloud algorithms turn this data into alerts for heat, pregnancy, calving, disease, loss or death, which farmers receive in a mobile app and on WhatsApp. The company was founded in 2016 in Benasque, in the Aragonese Pyrenees, and in 2021 closed a €1 million round led by Finaves, the IESE Business School fund. Araelec, business angels from the IESE and ESADE networks, Antón Arriola and Borja Moreno de los Ríos joined that round, along with existing shareholders including Barrabés.biz and HEMAV. The funds went to product development and commercial expansion in Europe and Latin America.
