Red Helmet is a Barcelona-based location-based virtual reality studio that designed and operated its own free-roam VR experiences. In October 2018 it opened the Red Helmet Experience arcade near Barcelona's Sants station, where teams of five players, equipped with wireless backpack PCs and HTC Vive Pro headsets, moved physically through cooperative survival games. Through its Red Helmet Business line, the company also built technology-driven software, games and interactive activations for corporate events and brands such as CaixaBank and the ACB league. Álvaro Gámiz and Rubén Bernal founded the company in Barcelona in 2017. It raised about $330K, including funding from ENISA, and has since been dissolved.
