SSailwiz
Sailwiz is a Madrid-based online marketplace for shared sailing trips. It connects boat captains who organise sea voyages with travellers who want to sail without owning or chartering a boat, and it serves everyone from complete beginners to experienced sailors. Travellers book individual berths on trips ranging from day outings to multi-week passages, and the platform earns a commission on each booking. The company lists around 675 boats in 50 countries and has close to 47,000 registered users. It passed €1 million in cumulative sales in 2021. Sailwiz was founded in 2017 as a master's programme project. It raised a €155,000 seed round from its founders and private investors and also took a €50,000 loan guaranteed by Spain's Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO).
