OOssby
Ossby is a Madrid-based company that designs and makes lightweight folding electric bicycles for city commuters. It sells them directly to consumers, through a network of more than 300 partner shops and to companies. Its flagship GEO e-bike has a frame made from recycled fibreglass from wind turbines and plant-based resin, folds in about a second and has a range of about 70 km. The bikes are assembled in Arganda del Rey from Spanish-made components and are protected by several design patents. Founded in 2019 by Caricia Mondragón and Chad Singer, Ossby has sold more than 2,500 bicycles in 14 countries and won the iF Design, European Product Design and Delta awards in 2024. In 2020 it raised about €297,000 in an equity crowdfunding round on Startupxplore that a fund later joined. It then took part in the Lanzadera accelerator and EIT Urban Mobility programmes, and in 2023 it received debt financing from Aquisgrán.
