ESC Venture Capital is a Barcelona-based venture capital firm, formerly known as Encomenda Smart Capital. It describes itself as a "super angel fund" and invests in seed-stage digital start-ups, mainly in Spain. Its focus sectors are SaaS and enterprise software, finance and payments, intelligent software and consumer. First cheques range from €100K to €350K, with follow-on investment of up to €1.8M per company. Co-founded in 2016 by Carlos Blanco and Oriol Juncosa, the firm raised its first vehicle, ESC Tech Fund I, in 2017. Its portfolio includes Landbot, Cobee, Bloobirds, Chekin, Mediquo, Cafler, Box2Box, Floorfy, Kampaoh and Goin.
