CCelentis
Celentis, the commercial brand of Opticalsens S.L., is a Valencia-based biotech company that develops colorimetric and fluorescent optical sensors and molecular probes for rapid, in-situ detection of drugs and cellular biomarkers. Its products include tests that detect drugs used in drug-facilitated assault in drinks within seconds, as well as molecular sensors of cellular senescence for research and pharmaceutical use, with applications in health, food and agriculture, hygiene and pharma. The company was incorporated in January 2024 as the first joint spin-off of the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València. It grew out of the inter-university IDM institute together with the technology transfer company TRL+, and both universities are shareholders. In 2025 it won third prize in the startup category of the Santander X awards.
