Sensing Tools is a Valencia-based software company that builds digital twins and predictive models of socioeconomic and environmental systems for public administrations, port authorities, natural parks, tourism destinations and industrial operators. Its platform brings together data from IoT sensors, remote sensing and open data with "social sensing" (natural-language analysis of social media and news) and presents descriptive, predictive and prescriptive views in one dashboard. Its projects include the SMARTLAGOON digital twin of the Mar Menor lagoon, daily port traffic prediction for the Port of Valencia Authority through the OpenTop accelerator, the CHAN-TWIN digital twin of the La Mata-Torrevieja natural park and the Smart Walk Relleu tourist-flow monitoring platform. The company was founded in 2023 as a spin-off of the GRC-DISCA research group at the Universitat Politècnica de València, through the Spin UPV programme with the venture builder TRL+, of which it was the first spin-off. It has been named a Key Innovator by the European Innovation Council and operates from the Alicante Science Park.
