Alice Biometrics (ALiCE) is a Vigo, Spain-based identity verification startup, spun off from R&D center Gradiant in 2019, offering AI-powered remote biometric onboarding (facial recognition, passive liveness detection, ID document validation) for banks, fintechs, mobility, telco and gaming clients to meet KYC/AML compliance. It raised a €1.5M seed round in 2020 led by Mundi Ventures; as of May 2025 the company was acquired by MercadoLibre and is no longer an independent standalone startup.
