Veridas is a Spanish identity-verification and biometrics company that builds proprietary facial, voice and document-verification technology used for customer onboarding, contact-center authentication, physical access control and anti-fraud/deepfake detection. Created in 2017 in Navarra as a joint venture between BBVA and Navarrese deeptech firm das-Nano (itself founded in 2012 by Esteban Morrás and Eduardo Azanza), it serves 350+ customers across 25+ countries in banking, telco, gaming, utilities and stadiums, and is profitable/EBITDA-positive. In July 2026 Veridas announced a merger with Amsterdam-based KYC/AML company Fourthline to form a combined identity and compliance platform (closing expected H2 2026, subject to regulatory approval), backed by BBVA, Finch Capital and new investor Rabo Investments.
