Biolvegas, based in Ólvega (Soria), secured a joint financing round of close to €3M from Caja Rural de Soria, Soria Futuro, Iberaval and SODICAL to complete Spain's first biogas plant designed from the outset for direct biomethane injection into the gas grid. The plant represents around €6M of total investment and will treat pig slurry and agri-food waste to produce roughly 38 GWh of renewable biomethane a year; the individual amounts and instruments per backer were not disclosed.
