Uptech Sensing is a Spanish deeptech manufacturer of distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) systems — DTS, DTSS and DAS units plus turnkey engineering — used for real-time monitoring of temperature, strain, vibration and leaks in power cables, pipelines, LNG plants, railways, wind turbine blades, dams and other critical infrastructure. Founded in 2016 as a spin-off of UPNA's Institute of Smart Cities and based in Mutilva (Aranguren, Navarra) with a software/AI office in Donostia-San Sebastián, it has ~15-25 employees and operates in more than fifteen countries. In March 2026 Basque listed group Arteche acquired 35% of the company for €3.85M on an €11M valuation, an exit for earlier backers Navarra Tech Transfer (Clave) and Sodena at a 2.4x multiple.
