VVira Gas Imaging
Vira Gas Imaging is a Spanish industrial emissions-monitoring company that detects and quantifies methane leaks and other volatile organic compounds using optical gas imaging (infrared cameras with cooled detectors and spectral filters), plus software for real-time monitoring, alarms and data processing. It serves Oil & Gas, industry and ports/vessels clients with LDAR programmes, biogas/biomethane and hydrogen inspections, and reports having identified over 4,000 fugitive emission sources. Founded in 2016 as the first startup spun out of Enagás Emprende, Enagás's corporate entrepreneurship programme; in February 2020 engineering group INERCO acquired a 54% majority stake, so the company now operates as a subsidiary of Grupo INERCO rather than as an independent venture-backed startup.
