NNimble Diagnostics
Nimble Diagnostics is a Barcelona-area medtech company developing the WAEVE / NIMBLE System, a non-invasive, non-ionizing device that uses microwave spectrometry to read the electromagnetic signature of implanted coronary stents and detect complications such as restenosis, thrombosis and stent fractures in about five minutes, without angiography. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the University of Barcelona (UB), it raised a €1.1M private round in late 2022/2023 and a ~€10.5M (~$12M) Series A in 2025, on top of a €2.5M EIC Accelerator grant and other public funding (CDTI NEOTEC, ENISA, CaixaImpulse). It has completed its NIMBLE-I first-in-human study (56 patients at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol), is running NIMBLE-II, and was named a Falling Walls TOP 100 Science Start-up to Watch in 2026. It is based in Badalona/Barcelona.
