Biotech Tricopharming Research is a Barcelona-based agri-biotech founded in 2018 as a spin-off of Sequentia Biotech, commercialising research started in 2015 on plant trichomes (the hair-like glands that produce plants' medicinal and aromatic compounds). It develops biostimulants and microbiome technologies that raise the yield of active compounds in medicinal and aromatic crops (TricoStimulant, CropOmize) plus animal-health/nutraceutical products derived from Artemisia (Artennua, ArteBiome), and runs custom R&D and scientific consulting, including for cannabis/hemp growers. HQ is in Barcelona with an experimental production and R&D centre in Tenerife; it is backed by CDTI NEOTEC (~€260k), ENISA AgroInnpulso (~€200k) and a VC round, and holds PYME Innovadora certification.
