Orain Technologies (rebranded as Frekuent in 2025) is a Barcelona-based payments company founded in 2016 that digitalises low-value/cashless payments in unattended and self-service environments — vending machines, coffee and laundry machines, smart fridges, parking, hospitality and fitness — via card readers, a mobile wallet app, loyalty tools and a cashless management platform. It has raised roughly €10-12M across three rounds, including a €3M round in May 2023 led by Bonsai Partners with Actyus, and a ~€6M round announced in 2025 led by Acurio Ventures and Kfund (via the Leadwind fund) with Bonsai and Actyus following; it also announced a partnership with Visa as part of its shift from B2B micropayments to a broader B2B2C payments play.
