SSparc Foundry
Sparc Foundry is a Spanish pure-play semiconductor foundry building Spain's first commercial III-V fab for integrated photonics in Vigo (Galicia), manufacturing gallium arsenide (GaAs), indium phosphide (InP) and gallium nitride (GaN) chips for photonics, RF and power applications. It targets optical communications, automotive, quantum, defence, medical and consumer electronics markets with a one-stop-shop model, and its plant at Parque Tecnolóxico de Valladares broke ground in February 2026 with full operations expected in 2027. Constituted in 2022 as a University of Vigo-linked deeptech venture, it was capitalised in 2025 via a €17.2M SETT (PERTE Chip) investment alongside Indra Group, which took a 37% stake to become largest shareholder; it expects to create ~200 direct jobs.
