Wooptix
Wooptix is a deeptech company that builds semiconductor wafer metrology equipment based on its proprietary Wavefront Phase Imaging technology, spun out of astronomy/adaptive-optics research at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife) in 2014. Its flagship Fabtool, Phemet®, measures silicon wafer shape, warpage and nanotopography in-line with higher lateral resolution and throughput than incumbent tools. It raised over €10M in a Series C in February 2025 led by Samsung Venture Investment and Spain's SETT (~$35M+ total raised), operates from Tenerife with additional offices in Madrid and San Francisco, and broke ground on a new semiconductor cleanroom facility in Tenerife in April 2026.
