The EIC Fund is the venture arm of the European Innovation Council. It is a Luxembourg-based investment fund set up under private law in 2020, with the European Commission as its shareholder. It makes direct equity and quasi-equity investments in high-risk deep tech start-ups and SMEs across Europe, in all sectors. Tickets run from €0.5–10M under the EIC Accelerator and €10–30M under EIC STEP Scale Up, and the fund is run by an external fund manager, Alter Domus. It has invested more than €1 billion and brought in over €2.6 billion of co-investment, with holdings including the quantum computing companies PASQAL and IQM.
