UniSCool (Universal Smart Cooling) is a deeptech spin-off of the Universitat de Lleida and the Université de Sherbrooke that develops patented adaptive direct-to-chip (DTC) liquid cooling for high-power electronics, cooling only where and when heat appears. Its systems dissipate up to ~2000W and cut cooling energy consumption by up to 50-70%, targeting data centres, AI compute and electric vehicles. Founded in 2022 and based at Parc de Gardeny in Lleida, it won the global Bupa/Sanitas Eco-Disruptive final (£200k + Plug and Play support), the 2025 Spanish National Research Prize for creating a science-based company, and in 2025 secured a €2.5M EIC Accelerator grant plus up to €2.5M of EIC Fund co-investment; management has said it plans to raise around €14M over 18 months to expand into Europe, the US and Canada.
