ADBioplastics

ADBioplastics is a Valencia-based company that develops and sells bio-based, compostable additives and bioplastics as alternatives to fossil-based plastics. Its patented additive, ADBio PLA+, improves the mechanical and barrier properties and the processability of PLA, giving its PLA-Premium range, which manufacturers can run on their existing machinery and moulds. Its customers are mainly in food and beverage packaging, and its projects include packaging for Borges International Group, airline catering utensils for Iraga and cosmetic bottles for Nua Cosmetics. Founded in 2016 as a spin-off of the packaging technology institute ITENE and part of the PACKA VENTURES company builder, it has been funded mainly through public grants, including a €1.2M EU Horizon 2020 grant in 2018 and CDTI support.
