Abora Solar is a Spanish deeptech manufacturer of hybrid photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) solar panels, marketed under its patented aHTech technology, which generate electricity and hot water from the same panel and hold a Solar Keymark-certified efficiency of up to ~89%, among the highest on the market. Founded in 2017 in La Muela (Zaragoza) out of CEO Alejandro del Amo's doctoral thesis at the University of Zaragoza, it sells to residential, commercial and industrial buildings with high hot-water demand and has installed panels in more than 35 countries. Funding has come mainly from EU innovation grants (EIC Fund, EIT InnoEnergy), a €2.64M capital increase closed at the end of 2023, and a €110,900 sustainable-loan crowdfunding round on Bolsa Social.
